FLEET MANAGEMENT
Platform Fee
Also known as: processing fee, Clear Plates fee, portal fee
What is a Platform Fee?
The platform fee is a $2 per-violation processing charge applied to payments made through the renter portal. This fee covers the cost of payment processing, violation matching and tracking, portal hosting, and ongoing platform maintenance.
For example, if a renter pays a $115 violation with a 15% fleet-owner markup, the total is $134.25. The breakdown: $115 goes toward the base violation, $17.25 is fleet-owner markup, and $2 is the Clear Plates platform fee.
The flat platform fee keeps renter payment costs predictable across low- and high-value citations. Clear Plates documents platform fees in the billing section of the admin dashboard.
