TLC (Taxi and Limousine Commission)

The Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is the NYC agency that licenses and regulates for-hire vehicles, including yellow taxis, green boro taxis, black cars, livery vehicles, and rideshare vehicles (Uber, Lyft, etc.). The TLC issues its own violations for infractions specific to the for-hire vehicle industry, separate from DOF parking tickets and OATH environmental violations.

TLC violations cover a wide range of issues: driver license infractions, vehicle inspection failures, meter tampering, overcharging passengers, failure to display required signage, and operating without proper TLC licensing.
