Also known as: Delivery Service Partner, Amazon DSP
What is a DSP (Delivery Service Partner)?
A DSP (Delivery Service Partner) is an independent business owner contracted by Amazon to operate last-mile delivery routes using Amazon-branded vehicles. DSPs typically lease 20-200 vans and hire their own drivers to complete daily delivery routes.
From a violation management perspective, DSPs face a unique challenge: they don't own the vehicles. The vans are leased from Amazon's fleet partner, which means the registered owner receives all violation notices. Under VTL 239, liability transfers to the DSP for violations during the lease period — but only if rental windows are properly documented.
DSPs need to track which violations fall within their rental window (their responsibility) versus outside it (the leasing company's problem). Clear Plates automates this by matching violation dates against each vehicle's rental start and end dates.
