VIOLATIONS

No Parking

Also known as: no parking zone ticket, no parking violation

What is a No Parking?

A no-parking violation is issued when a vehicle is parked in a designated no-parking zone beyond the allowed brief stop for loading/unloading or passenger pickup. "No Parking" is the least restrictive of NYC's three prohibition signs — you can temporarily stop (driver must stay with the vehicle), but you cannot leave the vehicle unattended or park for any extended period.

Base fines for no-parking violations are typically $65 to $115 depending on the violation code and location. No-parking zones are common on commercial streets during business hours and near construction sites. Some no-parking signs include time restrictions (e.g., "No Parking 8 AM–6 PM"), allowing parking outside those hours.

For fleet operators, no-parking violations often result from drivers misreading signs or misjudging time restrictions. NYC's signage can be confusing — a single block may have different rules on different days or times. Clear Plates detects no-parking violations across your fleet and helps you spot recurring problem locations where driver education or route adjustments could reduce ticket volume.
