Fleet Compliance Score

Also known as: compliance score, fleet health score, violation health metric

What is a Fleet Compliance Score?

A fleet compliance score is an aggregate measure of a fleet's overall violation health, factoring in the number of unpaid violations, how many are aging toward penalties, boot-risk exposure, judgment debt, and the ratio of resolved to unresolved tickets. A high compliance score indicates a well-managed fleet with minimal exposure; a low score signals growing risk.

The score considers multiple weighted factors: total unpaid amount (how much the fleet owes), violation velocity (rate of new violations per vehicle per month), aging distribution (percentage of tickets approaching penalty milestones), boot-risk vehicles (number of vehicles near or above the $350 threshold), and resolution rate (how quickly violations are paid or contested after detection).

For fleet operators, the compliance score provides an at-a-glance health check that avoids the need to dig into individual violations. It answers the simple question: "Is my fleet's violation situation getting better or worse?" A declining score triggers investigation into which metric is driving the drop. Clear Plates displays the compliance score on the dashboard overview with trend indicators showing week-over-week changes.
